Root Canal at Sahara Dental

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure designed to save a damaged or infected tooth from extraction. Here's an overview of the treatment:

Why is root canal treatment needed?

Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp (soft tissue inside the tooth containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue) becomes damaged or infected, often due to:

1. Deep tooth decay
2. Cracks or fractures
3. Trauma to the tooth
4. Gum disease
5. Abscess or infection

The procedure:

1. Preparation: The dentist will numb the tooth and surrounding area with local anaesthesia.

2. Isolation: Dentist will isolate the tooth using rubber dam so that root canal procedure is comfortable
3. Removal of infected pulp: The infected pulp tissue is carefully removed using specialized instruments called files and reamers.
4. Shaping and cleaning: The canal is shaped and cleaned to remove bacteria, infected tissue, and debris.
5. Filling: The cleaned and shaped canal is filled with a special material called gutta-percha.
6. Sealing: The tooth is sealed with a filling or crown to prevent further contamination.
7. Restoration: A crown or filling is placed to restore the tooth's natural shape and function.

Benefits:

1. Saves the natural tooth
2. Relieves pain and discomfort
3. Prevents infection spread
4. Restores tooth function and aesthetics

Post-treatment care:

1. Avoid chewing or biting until the tooth is restored
2. Follow dentist's instructions for pain management
3. Maintain good oral hygiene
4. Schedule follow-up appointments

How long does it take?

The treatment typically requires 1-3 visits, with each visit lasting 30-90 minutes. At Sahara Dental Care we provide Painless single sitting root canal in 90 percent of the cases under rubber dam isolation using magnification

At Sahara Dental Care, we use top quality filling or crown in order to further strengthen and protect the damaged tooth. Both fillings and crowns can now be created in a tooth-color. This means that regardless of where your infected tooth is located, a crown can be used, and it will blend in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth.

Patients throughout the Kurukshetra area appreciate how natural their tooth looks once the procedure is complete.
